Paddle Days at Horseshoe Lake


Celebrate the Grand Opening of Ramsey Outdoors’ Paddle Days at Horseshoe Lake! Canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddle boards are available to rent on a first come, first served basis. If under 18 years of age, must be accompanied a parent or guardian. Open Tuesdays-Sundays, 11am-6pm. Rentals are $20 for one hour, $30 for two hours. Lego Summer Camp-Ages 5 to 6


Intro to STEM using LEGO Camp is August 14,-18, 9:00am - 12:00pm in the Teen Center at Roxbury Recreation.  Tap into your imagination with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineer designed projects such as Boats, Snowmobiles, Catapults, and Merry-Go-Rounds. Then use special pieces to create your own unique design! New and returning students can explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. Registration info on flyer. STEM Challenge using LEGO Camp-Ages 7 to 12 


This camp is August 14-18, 1:00pm - 4:00pm in the Teen Center at Roxbury Recreation. Power on your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer designed projects such as Catapults, Pneumatic Cranes, Arch Bridges, and Battletracks! Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. An experienced instructor will challenge new and returning students to engineer at the next level. Rutgers SAFETY Clinic


For all who plan on coaching, this clinic is a requirement. It will be held on Thursday, August 24th, 6pm-9pm in the Senior Center. No walk-ins; please register using the registration form. This course is free of charge for Roxbury residents; the fee is $35 for non-Roxbury residents.

Multi-Sports Summer Camp through US Sports Institute


Fifteen sports in one week! Camps run Monday, August 28th to Friday, September 1st.  Three time choices for ages 5-11: 9am-4pm, $215; 9am-12:30pm, $189; 1pm-4pm, $159. For ages 3-5, time is 4:30pm-5:30pm, $99. Camp is held at Horseshoe Lake Park. Register online through your Community Pass account or in-person at the Rec Office. More info on flyer.

Olde Suckasunny Day Street Fair


Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 9, 2017, 10am – 3pm on Main Street in Succasunna, in front of the Roxbury Public Library. This fun event is for the whole family to enjoy, including games, vendors, food, music, a Silent Auction and much more. It's a great day!

Roxbury Day of Service to Honor our 9/11 Heroes


Save the dateSaturday, September 16, 2017! Come together to honor heroes of 9/11 by giving back to community. Help with projects such as assisting with food drive, cleaning up parks, help senior/disabled neighbor, etc. Individuals, groups, and families are welcome to volunteer, ages 5+. Girls Fall Volleyball


This program is for girls going into 5th through 8th grade. It is designed to introduce girls to the sport of volleyball. Volleyball will be held twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with occasional Monday dates. Each session is one hour, and scheduled between 5:45pm and 9pm. Locations will be in Lincoln Roosevelt Gym, Eisenhower School Gym, or Horseshoe Lake Gym; a schedule will be provided. The session begins in mid-September and runs through mid-November. Volunteers are needed for coaches! Please register online through Community Pass or in-person at the Recreation Office. Fee is $65, includes t-shirt. 

Cross Country Team


Join the fun and RUN! For kids in the following birth years: 2002-2008, ages 9-15 (no high school kids). Registration begins July 10th, and end on August 14th through your Community Pass account. Practice for the 2017 Season will begin at 6pm on Monday, August 28th at the Bandshell on the island of Horseshoe Lake. Practices will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6pm through November 3rd.  More info on flyer. Fee: $50.

Jr. Gaels Football


For boys entering in 3rd through 8th grade as of September 2017. Practice will begin on August 14th, and will be held Mondays through Fridays throughout August. Games will begin in September, and run through early November. Registration opens on March 20th online and in-person at Roxbury Recreation. Deadline is June 17, 2017. Helmet, shoulder pads and uniform included; please supply football cleats (no screw-in cleats allowed). For additional information, please view flyer. Fee: $125; $250 for two children, $300 family max. 

NFL Instructional Flag Football Clinic


This program is for children age 5 through 8 as of August 1st, 2017.  It includes learning the fundamentals of flag football.  No experience necessary. The program will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning September 11th at the Horseshoe Lake fields, 6pm-7:15pm. Coaches needed too! Please register online or in-person at Roxbury Recreation for clinic and coaching. Register online through your Community Pass account, or at the Rec Office. Fee: $50, includes NFL Jersey.

Roxbury Youth Ice Hockey


Registration is now open for the 2017-18 season. This program is open to boys and girls ages 4 through 16. Our teams play in the Morris County Youth Hockey League at Mennen Arena, and practice is held at Aspen Ice in Randolph. There are 18 regular season games against other teams in Morris County. Women's Volleyball League


For ages 19 and over, starts on September 13th and goes for 10 weeks.  Dates are on Wednesday nights, and games start at 7pm or 8pm at Eisenhower Middle School gym. Register in-person or by phone at Roxbury Recreation by September 1st. More info on flyer. Fee: $165 per team.

K-1st Grade Boys & Girls Basketball Skills Clinic

 
This is a great opportunity to introduce your child to the fundamentals of basketball. The clinic is instructed by Bob Capra, a Lincoln-Roosevelt teacher. Three sessions to choose from! Registration begins on September 1st, through your Community Pass account or in-person at the Rec Office. Fee: $40; includes t-shirt. 
  - Session 1 –Tuesdays at HSL Gym, 5pm-6pm,  Nov. 7, 14; Dec. 5, 12, & 19 
  - Session 2 – Wednesdays at HSL Gym, 4:30pm-5:30pm, Nov. 8, 15; Dec. 6, 13, 20
  - Session 3– Wednesdays at HSL Gym, 5:30pm-6:30pm, Nov. 8, 15; Dec. 6, 13, 20 

2nd Grade Boys & Girls Basketball Skills Clinic

3rd-8th Grade Basketball 


Registration begins September 1st for  in person at Roxbury Recreation or online through Community PassRegistration deadline is October 11th; evaluations for 3rd-8th grade levels will be during the second half of October. Please note that there will be no special/carpooling requests accepted for the formation of teams. Our goal is to put balanced teams together, so no single team has an unfair advantage. Travel Basketball Teams


Travel teams are offered for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Boys, and 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Girls Teams. Your child must be registered for Recreation Basketball in order to receive notification for travel tryouts. Sign up early; tryouts begin late September thru early October. There is an additional $50 fee for travel basketball. More info on flyer.

High School Boys Basketball


Practice and games are mid-day on Sundays for 9th-12th grade boys. Program start in mid-December. Registration begins September online through Community Pass, or in person at Roxbury Recreation or. More info on flyer. Fee: $95, includes t-shirt.
