Minutes of the Neighborhood Meeting of the Township Council of the Township of Roxbury held at Fire Company #3, Berkshire Valley Fire House, Berkshire Valley Road and Gordon Road, Berkshire Valley, New Jersey.

 

Roll Call:  Councilwoman Kathy DeFillippo, Councilmen Martin Schmidt, Richard Zoschak, Fred Hall and Mayor John Ciaramella.

 

Also Present:  Christopher Raths, Township Manager; BettyLou DeCroce, Township Clerk, Debbie Ward, Recycling Coordinator; Rick Blood, Assistant DPW Director.

 

Township Clerk, BettyLou DeCroce read the Open Public Meeting Statement.  The Neighborhood Meeting convened at 7:00 PM.

 

Mr. Raths, Township Manager gave a presentation on the 2006 & 2007 TO Do List.

 

Residents questioned the Nutrition Center – dumpster area and the walkway around the park area.  Mr. Raths stated that the County leases the building and he will give them a call as to the cleanup of the garbage around the dumpster area.

 

Discussions also took place pertaining to Gordon Road and flooding from a new house being built.  Mr. Raths will look into the matter.

 

The resident at 4 Gordon Road is having a flooding and ice problem that still is an ongoing problem.  Mr. Blood will go out and take a look at it and report back to Mr. Raths.

 

Debbie Ward, Recycling Coordinator went over samples of items that are to be recycled.  It was very informative to the public.  Several residents complained about pickup and also recycling problems on different properties.  Ms. Ward will take a look at those properties mentioned and get back to Mr. Blood.

 

Mr. Blood stated that paving in Berkshire Valley is scheduled for 2009.

 

Residents questioned the advantage of having cameras located in our parks to help with vandalism.  Mr. Raths will look into that possibility.

 

Mayor Ciaramella thanked the public present and advised that the next Neighborhood Meeting would be held on August 15, 2007 at Town Hall.

 

At 8:40 PM  Mr. Hall made a motion to adjourn the Neighborhood Meeting.  Mr. Zoschak seconded the motion.
