Pledge of Allegiance
Open Public Meeting Statement
Notice is hereby given that a Special Neighborhood Meeting
of the Township Council of the Township of Roxbury will be held on Tuesday,
August 19, 2008 at 7:00 PM at 1715 Rt. #46, Ledgewood, NJ. This meeting is being held for the purpose of
general discussion with Township residents.
Adequate notice of this meeting of the Township Council of
the Township of Roxbury was given as required by the Open Public Meetings Act
as follows: Notice was faxed to the
Daily Record, the Newark Star Ledger and the Roxbury Register on August 1,
2008; notice was posted on the bulletin board in the main hallway of the
Municipal Building on August 1, 2008.
Roll Call: Councilmen
Fred Hall, Jim Rilee, Martin Schmidt, Gary Behrens, Deputy Mayor Kathy
DeFillippo and Mayor Tim Smith.
Christopher Raths, Township Manager and BettyLou DeCroce, Township
Mayor Smith introduced the council and staff and then
amended the order of business to the Public Portion.
Mr. Peter Dargel
67 Carey Road
Mr. Dargel asked about the stripping of Emmans Road near the
ball fields. His concerns were based on
the narrow roadway and the cars parking for attendance at ballgames. Mr. Raths will follow up with Rick Blood and
they will make sure that the stripping complies with the traffic laws.

Mr. Kluska asked about the Art Cultural Center naming and
how long a sponsors name would be on it.
Mayor Smith stated that there would be a signed agreement, which
includes a 5 year stipulation.
Mr. Mark Crowder
161 Lakeside Blvd.
Landing, New Jersey
Mr. Crowder complained about a building across the street
that has been burned down for 7 months and nothing has been done to it. His
concern is for his own children and others in the area. Mr. Raths will follow up and communicate
directly with Mr. Crowder to find out the status of the building.
Ms. Sue Anderson
14 Kenvil Avenue
Ms. Anderson asked about the status of the Ledgewood Basin
Trail and Veterans Memorial Trail. Mr.
Raths gave an overview of the status of the trails. Mr. Schmidt stated that the Boy Scouts cabin
at the Ledgewood Basin would be completed sometime this fall. Mr. Raths also went over the paving list as
requested by Ms. Anderson.
At 8:00 PM Mr. Rilee made a motion to adjourn the
Neighborhood Meeting. Mr. Schmdit
seconded the motion.
