The Township Council of the Township of Roxbury held a Neighborhood Meeting on October 29, 2008.

 

OPEN PUBLIC MEETING STATEMENT

Notice is hereby given that a Neighborhood Meeting of the Township Council of the Township of Roxbury will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Company No. 2 Firehouse, Shippenport Road, Landing, New Jersey. This meeting is being held for the purpose of general discussion with Township residents.

 

Adequate notice of this meeting of the Township Council of the Township of Roxbury was given as required by the Open Public Meetings Act as follows:  Notice was faxed to the Daily Record, the Newark Star Ledger and the Roxbury Register on October 8, 2008; notice was posted on the bulletin board in the main hallway of the Municipal Building on October 8, 2008.

 

Roll Call:  Deputy Mayor Kathy DeFillippo, Councilmen Gary Behrens, Fred Hall and Richard Zoschak

 

Absent:  Councilmen Jim Rilee, Martin Schmidt and Mayor Timothy Smith

 

Also Present:  Christopher Raths, Township Manager; Anthony Bucco, Township Attorney and BettyLou DeCroce, Township Clerk

 

Opening Remarks:  Deputy Mayor DeFillippo introduced the Council and staff members in attendance

 

Landing Sea Wall

Councilman Zoschak updated the residents on the status of the repair of the Landing Sea Wall.

 

Status of Lakes

Councilman Zoschak updated the residents on the status of the Lake Hopatcong Commission and the Lake Musconetcong Regional Planning Board.

 

Status of Villages Project

Mr. Raths advised the residents that the grading work is in progress and should end within the next few months.

 

Alive @25 Program

Deputy Mayor Kathy DeFillippo discussed the “Alive at 25” program, which is a shared services between the Roxbury Police Department and the Board of Education designed to educate high school students and their parents about the rules and dangers of driving.

 

Shippenport Road Closure

Captain David Kennedy of the Roxbury Township Police Department advised the residents that work on Shippenport Road would be allowed from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM.  School buses and other traffic will have to use Landing Road to Shippenport Road.

 

At 9:10 PM Mr. Hall made a motion to close the Neighborhood Meeting.  Mr. Zoschak seconded the motion
